Hey Wade, welcome to the wiki. You've definitely come to the right place to learn. If you have any troubles as you navigate the jungle that is C++, don't hesitate to ask for help on the forums! There are lots of friendly and helpful people around to help you out if you get stuck. It's good to have you here. --Ryan Clark 08:17, 18 Nov 2004 (EST) PS. Don't worry about that "Wa" user you accidentally created. It's actually a pain to remove users from the database (has to be done by hand) so we'll just ignore it for now :) [edit] some helpful sitesHey Wade, good to see that you are learning C++ and game programming! I thought i'd give you some websites that helped me out a lot (and they still do!). well that's about it. good luck with it! Deanos 03:16, 22 Nov 2004 (EST)
Well spotted on that spam correction Wade, I keep missing the deletions. Codehead 04:13, 11 Dec 2004 (EST) Heh, thanks. Just trying to contribute in some way, since I haven't had much time to do actual programming lately... I guess this means I'm starting off as wiki janitor and working my way up? --Wade 00:34, 13 Dec 2004 (EST) Hey Wade, congrats on the new offspring! Have they got names yet, or is it just #1 and #2? :) You'd better post some pics or we're not going to believe you the next time, when you have triplets! Ryan Clark 23:07, 13 Jan 2005 (EST) Thanks Ryan! The 'proper' nomenclature for unnamed twins is "Baby A" and "Baby B", but we much prefer "Nicholas" and "Max". :) Twins run in my family (I'm a twin, my Mom's a twin, more that I won't list just now), so coming up with multiples again wouldn't be out of the question... it happened to my grandmother! That said, I think the wifer and I will stop now before we start having bonafide litters. --Wade 12:24, 14 Jan 2005 (EST) I hope your evenings aren't too disturbed. Twins must be demanding! My missus is due to drop our second sprog in April (a girl) so I have till then to finish AMBER :) Codehead 14:18, 14 Jan 2005 (EST) Have no fear... no part of my day is left undisturbed. :) And one of them isn't even home from the hospital yet. (Yes, he's doing well and will come home soon.) From what I hear, the first 3 years are the busiest; after that it's just like any other family with a lot of kids. Later, there's the added bonus that they always have someone to play with. And they do have a big sister (almost 4) that gets a big kick (for now) out of being mommy's "helper". Yes, life is good. Congrats in advance for your little sprog, Codehead! (Sprog? I'll have to google that one sometime...) --Wade 18:59, 15 Jan 2005 (EST) |
