Creating Adventure Games Collaboratively

Hey Thomas.

I'm finding your ideas about a Creating Adventure Games Collaboratively very fasinating, and I have spend a good deal of time trying to design a system that could handle such wiki game projects. So far, I've mainly worked with reading, parsing and setting up wiki based dialog systems, like the Wiki Based Dialog System you wrote as a draft. Excuse me for messing it up, I'll clean it up shortly! ;)

Anyway, it wouldn't be impossible adding NPCs, stories, pictures and other resources to the system. When I'm completely finished with the dialog part, I may very well start thinking about the best design for implementing these things into the system.

Your new Time Portal thing looks great! I just wanted to remind you that when you upload a picuture to the wiki, you are signifying that it is under the Public Domain, and the owner of the picture consents with it being on the wiki.--Snoolas 11:07, 5 Jul 2005 (EDT)

Thanks, I am now writing up a Wiki RPG Tutorial Game (based on the Foo Game) and will then go and advertise the project a bit more... The pictures for the 'Time Portal thing' are all from Wikipedia, so they should be ok in terms of copyright. But there actually was a technical problem: pictures uploaded to the GP Wiki are not rendered by the browser when I run the game :( Don't ask me why I have no idea... So now I've just put the pictures on my personal webspace and everything works fine. Thomas Strohmann 18:21, 5 Jul 2005 (EDT)
I'm not so sure about the licensing. As I understand it, the picutures must be under the public domain, and most of wikipedia's pictures are copyrighted by people, but fair use applies to allow the pictures to be used as a visual aid to their articles. That doesn't put them under the public domain. I don't know very much about this. Wait for someone else to come along and answer this. As for the technical problem, that's strange. If your webspace is free, then what will happen if your transfer limit is exceeded? Anyhow, it looks good so far.
