Ideas for a new main page

I think that the Main Page needs to be freshed up! We need a more professional layout that also allows users to find what they need more easily. Try making a prototype of a new main page, and post a link here and descripe what you're trying to achieve.

Layout

Slight layout change

This is a small modification of the box layout of the original Main Page. It's inspired by the layout on the main page of Wikipedia and Uncyclopedia. It still has the original colors though, and they look tastless mixed together like that, to say the least. Another color combination would have to be found.

I'm not at all satisfied with the layout though, I'd like to change the main page much more radically. Any comments? Looking forward to seeing what you can come up with.
