Game ideas: Fantasy/Steampunk Shooter

Genre: 1st person shooter, ego-shooter, whatever you want to call it ;) Just a simple thing: An ego-shooter, workinglike e.g. Battlefield 2, but with your standard "medieval" fantasy setting. When respawning, you could choose your race (effects hp, speed, and how tall you are) and class (weapon/armor set). Of course, with your average fantasy ranged weapons (Crossbow, bow, knives... er... darts...) that'd be boring... so let's combine it with Steampunk and some Dork Tower - Fantasy! Steam-powered tanks, a hot-steam-thrower (instead of a flame thrower), steam powered ceramic shrapnell grenades perhaps even a steam-powered flying machine, a repetier-crossbow... And, if that still is not enough... how about a "mage class" with mighty special attacks and shield magic, but only a limited amount of "mana" and a very weak weapon (short bow)? Like it?
