Game ideas: Dragon fight
From GPWiki
The wiki is now hosted by GameDev.NET at wiki.gamedev.net. All gpwiki.org content has been moved to the new server. However, the GPWiki forums are still active! Come say hello. Ok, I've had this idea for a while, but don't have time to make it into a real project (unless I am game designer only, without programming) You control a dragon, and in open space, with some possible ground platforms, power-ups and similar eye-candies you fight against one or more other dragons. Pixel-art is what I have in mind. No need to complicate, though a bunch of details is always welcome. Now, the dragons would be able to blow fire (not every second, only after some time or after eating gold), to attack with their claws or to hit with their head (strange, isn't it) So, obiviously, the problem is in the lack of "weapons", and that's why I thought to include another player, who would be able to ride on the dragon, like archer, mage etc. These two players could be controlled by two "human" players (like keyboard/joystick) or just one human and AI, which could be switched to one another. My original idea was that the game is "mortal-kombat" style, with one dragon fighting with another one, till death. But, with a serious team, this could be one of battle modes, with options for single battle, campaign etc. I must propose the path which project should follow, so it doesn't get too difficult at the very beginning: - basic fight: two dragons in open space, fighting with their "bare-hands" - ground platforms with power-ups - two human players against computer AI, one dragon and one other race The game could be easily scaled to any size, but it would still need to keep the easy-to-play and go and kill 'em all type. So, to sum it up, with nice graphics and cool animations, I think this could be a great, yet simple action game with the coolest fantasy character ever - dragon! (personal opinion ;) I encourage everone to drop your own ideas, but if you're serious about starting this project, I'd still like to be game designer (though it's really up to your choice). I can be e-mailed at 11witchsmeller@msn.com (remove "11") and I'm open to any suggestions/proposals ~Darko Stanimirovic (aka Witchsmeller) |
