COLLADA - COLLAborative Design Activity
From GPWiki
The wiki is now hosted by GameDev.NET at wiki.gamedev.net. All gpwiki.org content has been moved to the new server. However, the GPWiki forums are still active! Come say hello. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. COLLADA is a COLLAborative Design Activity for establishing an interchange file format for interactive 3D applications. Solutions already exist to transport data from one Digital Content Creation (DCC) tool to another with various degrees of success. Only a few are exposing the intermediate format that is used for this purpose though. COLLADA defines a standard XML schema for data interchange. The COLLADA format is the official 3D model interchange format for use on the Playstation 3 console. COLLADA also provides a physics specification. The Physics Abstraction Layer allows you to import COLLADA physics to most physics engines. |
